Announcement: Selection for Student Presentation Award (Oral Presentation Division) at the 80th Annual Meeting of the Physical Society of Japan
Last updated: 2025/06/02
The Experimental Nuclear Physics Division will conduct the “Selection for the Student Presentation Award (Oral Presentation Division)” at the 80th Annual Meeting of the Physical Society of Japan (JPS), to be held in September 2025. This is the second time this program has been implemented.
Objective
The Experimental Nuclear Physics Division of the JPS aims to encourage outstanding student presentations and to promote broader recognition of Student Presentation Award recipients.
Implementation
The selection will be conducted through oral presentations within regular sessions. Applicants will present their work in regular sessions, and judges appointed by the selection committee will evaluate the presentations.
How to Apply
The application procedure is the same as for regular presentations. The application period is from Tuesday, June 10 to Thursday, July 3, 14:00 (JST). Please refer to the JPS Meeting Website for details.
Key notes for oral presentation applications:
- The selection is open to students (including graduate and undergraduate students). Applicants must be graduate student members or student members of JPS at the time of application. Please refer to the membership registration page. Note that it takes about a week to complete registration before applying.
- On the meeting application form:
- Select “Apply” under the section “Application for Student Presentation Award.”
- Unlike applications from the Undergraduate Poster Session or the Theoretical Nuclear Physics Division, eligibility is not determined by keywords.
- Please choose up to two appropriate keywords that best describe your presentation, as in regular submissions. Your session will be determined based on the first keyword.
- Select “Oral Presentation” as the presentation type.
- The Undergraduate Poster Session will not be held at this meeting.
- You must submit an abstract.
- If you wish to be evaluated under the Experimental Nuclear Physics Division but your presentation is submitted to a joint session hosted by another division, please submit your intent using this form prepared by the division's organizing committee. (Contact: Go [go_at_riken.jp])
Financial Support
Please note that no financial support will be provided for membership or registration fees of applicants.
JPS Student Presentation Award
Applicants who meet the criteria will be evaluated through this “Selection for the Student Presentation Award (Oral Presentation Division),” and candidates will be recommended for the JPS Student Presentation Award by the Experimental Nuclear Physics Division (guidelines). Details regarding the evaluation process will be announced later.
For University Faculty Members
We kindly ask university faculty members to widely disseminate this information among their students and encourage suitable candidates to apply.
